The Fractured Self Is Out Now: Why I Wrote a Book About Feeling Divided
Summary for search engines: Dominic C Ndulue introduces his new book, The Fractured Self, which brings the ancient Gnostic texts together with Carl Jung to explore why we feel divided and how we become whole.
Today my new book, The Fractured Self: Recovering Wholeness with Gnostic Wisdom, is available on Amazon in Kindle and paperback.
I want to tell you why I wrote it.
Many of us live in pieces. One version of us goes to work. Another comes home. Another lives on the screen in our hand. We smile on the outside, while something inside feels scattered, as if part of us went missing and we cannot remember where we left it.
For a long time I thought this was a modern problem, born of busy lives and endless noise. Then I spent time with the ancient Gnostic writings discovered at Nag Hammadi in Egypt in 1945, and I found the same feeling described almost two thousand years ago.
The Gnostic writers told the story of a divine spark scattered through the world and forgotten. They spoke of powers, which they called the Archons, that keep people distracted, afraid and asleep. And they believed there was a way back: not through blind belief, but through gnosis, a knowing that comes from within.
What This Book Explores
Across thirteen chapters, The Fractured Self explores:
The Gnostic myth of Sophia and the Demiurge, and what it says about how wholeness breaks apart.
The divine spark, and why the Gnostics believed our problem is not that it was destroyed, but that we forgot it was there.
The Archons, read both as the ancient writers meant them and as a mirror for the forces that fragment us today.
Carl Jung, who studied the Gnostics for decades and saw in their myths a map of the human soul.
What it means to live towards wholeness in a disconnected age.
Who This Book Is For
This book is for anyone who has ever felt divided inside, and for readers curious about the Gnostic texts, early Christianity and Jungian psychology. You do not need any background in these subjects. I have written it to be clear, honest and grounded in the ancient sources.
It is not a book of quick fixes, and it is not a replacement for the care and support people sometimes need. It is an invitation to see yourself differently, and to remember who you are beneath the roles, the fears and the noise.
